Flexible on dates? Use backload space
Your belongings travel on a truck already scheduled to leave Sydney for that route. We match your load to the space available and agree a pickup window and a delivery window with you, in place of a single fixed day. In Sydney there is a second thing to line up: many buildings only release move slots on certain days, so the more flexible your dates, the easier it is to match a truck to a slot you can actually get.

Getting a truck in and out of your Sydney address
Access at the pickup is what sets truck size, crew size and how long loading takes — and on an interstate move it cannot be fixed on the day, because the truck is leaving the state. Sydney adds one more layer that most cities do not: the building itself often controls when you are allowed to move. This is what we check before quoting.
Apartment towers and strata buildings
This is the part of a Sydney move that catches people out. In the CBD, Green Square, Zetland, Rhodes, Chatswood and Parramatta, most buildings require a move slot booked through building management, a service lift booked for that window, and sometimes a bond held until after the move. Many buildings also restrict which days and hours moves can happen, and a basement dock has a height limit that decides which truck can get in at all. We ask about every one of these before quoting, because a truck and crew booked for a day the building will not allow is the most expensive mistake on this route.
Inner and eastern suburbs terraces
Surry Hills, Newtown, Paddington, Balmain and the surrounding terraces bring a different problem: narrow one-way streets, resident-permit parking and often nowhere legal for a large truck to stop near the door. Some councils require a permit or a temporary no-parking bay, which has to be applied for in advance. Add internal stairs and a long carry from the door, and both truck size and crew size change — so we settle it at quoting stage.
North Shore and northern beaches
Steep driveways, hilly streets and houses set well above or below street level are the norm here, often with tree cover over the approach. What matters is whether a loaded truck can get in and turn, and how long the carry is when it cannot. Where a full-size truck is not safe on the driveway, a smaller vehicle shuttles to the main truck at the street.
Western and south-western Sydney
Newer estates through the west and south-west are generally the most straightforward pickups in the city: driveways, wider streets and room for a larger truck, which usually means a faster load. The exceptions worth flagging when you enquire are older tight streets and shared-parking unit complexes, where we plan the truck position ahead of the day.
Time of day matters too. A cross-city run in Sydney traffic can add more to a loading day than the distance does, so where the pickup allows it we plan the start time around the run to the highway rather than around the clock.

Loading day in Sydney
The crew arrives inside the agreed window and calls ahead. Furniture is wrapped, padded, loaded in order and strapped for a long highway run, and basic dismantling of beds and large items is handled where required.
Arrival and unload
We confirm the delivery arrangements with you before the truck arrives, unload into the rooms you choose and reassemble what was dismantled in Sydney.
Protection for a long run. Wrapping, padding and strapping is included on every job. How much does it cost to move interstate from Sydney?

My building needs a move-in booking. How does that work with your dates?
Tell us before we quote. Most Sydney strata buildings release move slots on set days and hold a service lift for a fixed window, and some require a bond. We plan the truck around the slot you can get rather than the other way round, which is usually the difference between a smooth move and a wasted booking.
What is the difference between a backload and a dedicated truck?
A backload shares space on a truck already scheduled for the route, with an agreed pickup window and delivery window rather than fixed days, and it costs less. A dedicated truck carries only your household on dates agreed in writing before you book. A locked-in building slot usually points to a dedicated truck.
Can you pick up from a narrow street in the inner suburbs?
Usually yes, but it needs checking first. We look at where a truck can legally stop, whether a council permit or a temporary no-parking bay is needed, the carry distance from the door, and stairs. Where a large truck cannot get close, we plan a smaller vehicle to shuttle to it.
